Hajj Guide by Editorial Staff (June 10, 05:06 AM)

The Stoning of the Devil, i.e. ramī aj-jamarāt is however, a toughest part of Hajj rituals one has to perform, with respect to Incidents.

On the 10th day of Zill-Hajj, while Pilgrims move to stone the devil, is considered to be the most dangerous part of the Hajj (Pilgrimage) rituals. Pilgrims must have to strike only one of the large jamrah with seven pebbles in any case, and resultantly, large number of mob gather at mini place.

The sudden crowd movements on or near the Jamaraat Bridge causes people (Pilgrims) to be crushed during hajj.  Hundreds of people die during this session of hajj every year.  In annual pilgrimage of 2006, it has been recorded that more of less 346 pilgrims were killed and injured at least 289 more due to over rush.

However, hajj 2014 is more facer as certain revolutionary measures have been taken by government. An important step in managing crowds is the recent replacement of the jamarāt pillars by walls to ease and speed up the stoning and also, the bridge has also been widened in recent years to accommodate the ever-growing number of pilgrims who perform the Hajj each year coming from different countries of the world.

Because that was so due to two main reasons, a sudden gathering of Pilgrims towards Jamarat pillars and the lack of co-operation on the part of pilgrims who do not leave the jamarāt area by the proper route.

To avoid that kind of accident, you must learn everything regarding manasiq e hajj and the means and styles must have been considered instructed by the authorities, and hajj guide teams, be it local or tour operation by whom you avail your hajj packages 2014.
