  1. Sacrificing the animal in Mina is Sunnah, however, you may slaughter the animal in any other part of Mina or Mecca during the hajj.

  2. You can slaughter cow, camel, goat sheep etc.

  3. While slaughtering the animal, make the animal face to Qiblah (Kaba) and make it lie down on its left side and putting its right foot upon its right side.

  4. Say, “Bismillahi Wallahu Akbar Al-Lahumma Inna Hadha Minka Wa Laka” while slaughtering.

  5. Slaughtering the animal by your own is not compulsory; you can also just pay for it. Hajj packages providing agents may guide you in this regard.

  6. If you cannot even afford the animal, then you can fast three days in Hajj and seven when you return to his family.

  7. You can eat from the animal you slaughter.

  8. You should give some of it to feed the poor and the needy one.

  9. The time range for slaughter is the four days of ‘Eid, called Yawm an-Nahr. You cannot sacrifice before and after it for Hajj.

  10. Seven people (Pilgrims) may share in one camel or cow.
