How do I Block Someone on Skype - The Difference in Block, Remove and Delete the Contact on Skype

Block someone on Skype is easy, quick and simple to do. When you block, remove or delete any Skype contact, the contact will be unable to send you message, dial Skype video/audio calls to you and see you if you’re online/offline i.e. your any Skype status.

However, there is difference between blocking someone on Skype or completely removing or deleting the Skype contact from your Skype account. When you block any contact from Skype, it will be including in your block list and any time you want to unlock him/her, you can do this by simply navigating block list.

Whereas, when you remove someone from your Skype contact list, it will be permanently removed from your Skype account and next time, if you ever want to add that contact in your Skype contact list, you will have to re-search his/her Skype name, display name, email account or phone number and send friend request.

Nevertheless in both cases, either you remove or block the Skype contact, when you had done it with, you would have to send friend request to see his/her status. Let us learn how to block and remove the Skype contact.
 

How to Block Someone on Skype?

  1. Sign in to Skype with username and password

  2. From the contact list, right click the contact you want to block

  3. From the drop down menu appears, select Block contact…

  4. That’s it!


If you want to unblock the contact you have already blocked, just follow the following simple steps.
 

How to Unlock Someone on Skype?

  1. Start Skype

  2. Select Tools > Options from the main menu

  3. Select Privacy > Blocked Contacts to see the block list

  4. Finally select the person you want to unblock, right click the choose Unblock this person

  5. That’s it!
     

 

How to Completely Remove Someone on Skype?

  1. Sign in to your Skype account

  2. Right click the Skype contact you want to completely remove from Skype

  3. Select the option Remove from the drop down menu

  4. That’s it!
