What is Halal Chicken

The word halal is an Arabic word which means permissible, the term halal is used mostly for creating a difference in allowed type of food and un-allowed foods by Muslims in all over the world.

The term Halal not only covers the food but also drinks and all other matter of life, the general principle is that
 

"All type of food and drinks are halal except those which are prohibited similarly all the actions are prohibited unless you have a permission of doing it from Islam".


Halal food refers to the foods which are allowed to Muslims to eat or drink by Shariah laws, it also defines how the food must be prepared.

The most known example of Haram Food is Meat of Pig, there also rules and regulation for slaughtering the animal for Muslims.

Halal practices include the slaughtering of the animal by a specific method, slaughtering must be done by a Muslim who will slaughter the animal (animal which is allowed to eat in Islam) after saying the Takbeer which is the name of Allah including Tasmiyah and then saying ‘Allahu Akbar’ three times.

The animal must be slaughtered by a sharp knife by cutting the throat including only windpipe and blood vessels while leaving spinal cord untouched, wait until the blood from the whole body is drained away from the neck. Before slaughtering the animal it must be assured that the animal is alive and is in healthy condition.

Muslims Cannot Consume these items as they are Haram (un-Lawful) as declared by islam

  • Blood

  • Pig

  • Animals killed without Islamic methods prescribed in shariah laws.

  • Acohol and other intoxicants.

  • Carrion (The dead and rotting body of an animal).

  • Animal that has been slaughtered in the name of any other person, saint or any other thing.

  • Animal that is killed by strangled, or killed by falling from above, beaten to death, killing by electric shock, savaged by the beast of prey (unless finished by the human).

 

Halal - One of The Most Humane Act of Slaughtering

Dhabihah is the permitted method of slaughtering the animals which are halal to eat for Muslims according to the Islamic law and lifestyle. This method of slaughter is not applicable to fish and other sea-life.
