Skype has feature to update its software time to time automatically. Skype is update whenever new update releases. At time it slows your internet speed, because, by default, Skype automatic updates are turned on. If you want to manage them as you like, I mean if you want it to update the Skype with your permission, you have to turn the automatic updates off. However, it only updates the Skype when you’re connected to internet in either case.

Turning the automatic updates in Skype off is very simple, easy and quick. All you need to sign in to your Skype account with username and password, and follow the following steps:
 

Steps to Turn off Automatic Updates in Skype:

1. Start your Skype
2. Go to Tools > Options...from the top menu bar
3. Navigate the Advance Tab and click Automatic updates
4. Now just click Turn off automatic updatesto turn them off
5. That’s it!

Remember, constantly not updating Skype might refrain you to sign in to your Skype account if the latest update of Skype is not installed. So keep updating your Skype to keep in touch with others without having issues.
