What is Display Name:

Change Skype Display Name:

1. Start your Skype

2. Click your display name given at your Skype bar that will open your profile right side of the window

What is Skype Name:

As already told, Skype name is your Skype username associated with your email account. When you make you Skype account, you’re offered to choose Skype name for your Skype account as username. It is unique and used whenever you want to sign in to your Skype account.

Skype name is displayed center of your Skype top bar. If anyone wants to search you, he/she would have to search your through Skype name or your email address. However, if you have provided your phone number, that could also be used to search your Skype account.
 

Change Skype Name:

Unfortunately, unlike to display name, Skype name cannot be changed to edit. If you want to change your Skype name, you would have to create a new Skype account on the same or new email address. However, in this case, you would have to lose all your Skype contacts, history and subscription if you had any.
