The city of Madinah is famous for its dates for centuries , as Medina is a holy city attributes as a city of Prophet Muhammad SAAW where he SAAW established the first Islamic society and the first mosque namely Masjid Al Nabvi. However, along with Masjid Al Nabvi there are certain places to be visit as of remembrance of time of the prophet SAAW.

The Quba Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in the world, situated in the outlying environs of Medina in Saudi Arabia. It is also authentically reported that Prophet Muhammad SAAW spent more than tenty nights in this mosque after migrating praying qasr (a short prayer) while waiting for Ali R.A whose house was behind this mosque. So don’t forget to offer two rakaʿāt of nafl prayers in the Quba Mosque as it is equivalent to performing one Umrah.

Masjid al-Qiblatain is also situated in Madinah Munawarah famous of the mosque where command was revealed by Allah on Prphet Muhammad SAAW to change the direction (Qiblah) from Jerusalem to Mecca i.e. from Masjid al Aqsa to Masjid Al Haraam.

Don’t forget to visit Maqbaratul Baqī (Al-Baqi), cemetery known as Jannatul Baqi which contains many of Beloved Prophet’s SAAW relatives and companions i.e. Sahaba R.A. Pray there as you pray at other cemeteries.

Historical Places Of Madinah Which You Must Visit


Janat Ul-Baqee: This is a graveyard Madinah where a large number of sahabah are buried namely Hazrat Abbas, Imam Hassan, Hazrat Usman including the wives and daughters of Hazrat Muhammad SAWW.

Misjid e Quba: This mosque is known as the first one in the islamic history, its foundation stone was laid down by Hazrat Muhammad SAWW, offering 2 Raka' ats of nafl prayer is this mosque is equal to performing a Umrah. You should visit this place after visiting prophet Tomb and prophet mosque.

Masjid Qiblatain: the special thing with this mosque is that here Allah directed Hazrat Muhammad SAWW to change the direction of offering prayer to Holy Kabba instead of Bait ul Muqqadas. While this message comes Holy Prophet was offering prayer along with sahaba karaam, that is why this mosque is known as mosque with two qiblas.

Masjid Jum’a: This mosque is named as Jum'a because Prophet Muhammad SAWW offered His first Juma prayer in Madinah at this place.

Masjid Ghamama: Hazrat Muhammad SAWW normally offer His Eidain prayer in this mosque, once Prophet SAWW offered Istasqa prayer at this mosque, suddenly clouds appeared and rain start. That's why it is named as Ghamama (Clouds). Near to this mosque you can also find 3 other mosques to visit which are named as Masid Abu Bakr, Masjid Umar Faooq and Masjid Ali.

Plains Of Badar: The plains of 'Badar' is also a point which you must see as here the first war of Islam occured between 313 Muslims and 1000 Qureshi People from Makkah.

Jabal E-Uhad: This is the mountain about 4 miles away from madina where the second war is fought between Muslims and Quresh.

Jabal-e-Sal’aa: A mountain where Muslims fought the battle of ditch, now you can also see 6 mosques built at this place.
