Here we’re presenting 10 facts about Islam for Kids in simple words so that children could understand the fact in Islam which every kid must know about. You can also consider mentioned fact of Islam as basic guidance which every Muslim child must know to start his/her life in accordance with Islamic teachings. They are as below.

  1. Islam is an Arabic word meaning submission and obedience (to Allah). It derives from a word meaning peace. The follower of Islam is called Muslim, meaning one who submit to Allah SWT.

  2. The Islamic religion is based upon the Five Pillars, belief, worship, fasting, charity and pilgrimage to Mecca, which guide their lives and their worship. These five pillars of foundations of Islam are called Shahadah, Salah, Sawm, Zakah and Hajj respectively in the Islamic terminology.

  3. Muslims pray, as one of the Five Pillars, at five specific times each day namely fajr, zohr, asr, maghrib and isha. This practice is known as Salah or Salah.

  4. Muslims follow their holy scripture, known as the Qur’an, to led their life according to the guidance of Allah SWT, because they believe that Quran is the inspired word of God (Allah), as given by the Arc Angel  Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad SAWW, the last Messenger of Allah SWT.

  5. Shahadah, or the Islamic declaration of faith states: “I bear witness that there is no god, but Allah; I bear witness that Muhammad SAWW is the prophet of Allah.” Reciting the Shahadah is how one enters the Islamic faith i.e. the condition to become a Muslim.

  6. In Islam, Prophet0 Muhammad SAWW is considered the last and the final Prophets and the Messenger of Allah in a line of Prophets who include Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (Isa), (May Allah Peace be Upon them All).

  7. Scholarship and education are very highly regarded within the Muslim faith. Muslim students attend a religious school known as madrasah along with the scientific knowledge, as Islam obliged to gain knowledge on both, men and women in a general manner.

  8. Mecca is the birthplace of Prophet Muhammad SAWW, and so is considered sacred by Muslims.

  9. In the center of Mecca is a building called the Kaaba, the holiest place on earth in Islam revived by Prophet Abraham A.S. It is the direction of the Kaaba that Muslims pray five times daily.

  10. During the period of Ramadan, Muslims will fast during daylight hours, from fajr to maghrib. This is a time for worship, contemplation and the strengthening of family and community ties.
