OoVoo VS Skype: What to Use? - A Comparison

Skype by Editorial Staff (April 01, 06:37 AM)

oovoo

Seems ooVoo an alternative of Skype, really? Let us examine first, the differences and similarities between Skype and ooVoo, and then to let the conclusion on you what to use! However, I would try to give my opinion as well partially, and comprehensively, but you’re not bound to follow mine, as it will depend on your usability if you want to use Skype or ooVoo meeting your needs. So let’s start examining ooVoo VS Skype.

In spite of many similarities such as, video conversations, free features, audio/video recordings, IMs features, etc. there are some differences I like to discuss instead of similarities. Let’s follow!

Group Calls:

Although both, the Skype and ooVoo offers group video and audio calls features, unlike to Skype, ooVoo also offers group video calls on mobile are FREE of cost, whereas in Skype, you have to pay for group video calls on mobile phones.

Call Quality:

There is a big debate of audio and video call quality comparison between ooVoo and Skype, however, you cannot pass a sweeping statement which one is good. Skype relies on your device's power to "blend" the streams of each caller, where ooVoo is quality conscious which burdens your internet speed. Now you can judge what suites you the best.

Without Installing the App:

If you want to use Skype, you always have to install it in your device, whether you are using Androids or PCs. The case seems different on ooVoo, if you’re on journey where u don’t have your device, and have to use any other’s one, no need to worry about, you can still login to your ooVoo by just navigating the search browser to get your job done. However, I do not promise the quality!

These are the main differences in Skype and ooVoo, apart from the similarities, however, in my view, due to the famous name, I rely more on Skype instead to trust any other conversation tool, but you can have your own reasons. Best of luck!
